Minimum Enrollment Requirements - Summer 2023
To be considered for federal financial aid, students must be degree seeking and enrolled at least halftime* in required coursework. For financial aid purposes, all summer modules are combined into one processing term. Note that if enrolled in multiple summer sessions, financial aid funds may not be disbursed until enrollment has begun in all sessions.
*An exception to halftime enrollment is Private Student Loans. More information can be found below.
Steps for Summer Financial 援助:
- Must have a 完整的d 2022-2023 FAFSA 在文件. The federal deadline to 应用 is June 30, 2023.
- 完成 Summer Financial 援助 Application.
- Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Federal Pell Grant:
An eligible Federal Pell Grant recipient can receive up to 150 percent (150%) of his or her scheduled Pell Grant award for the year. Students must be enrolled at least halftime in required coursework; eight (8) credits over the entire summer award period. The additional Pell Grant will be included in the student's 600 percent (600%) maximum Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used.
示例1: Student enrolled fulltime in fall and spring and received the full eligibility of their Pell Grant. Student decides they want to attend the summer term. Student must be enrolled halftime to be eligible to receive Pell Grant.
示例2: Student enrolled fulltime in spring only and did not attend anyw在这里 in the fall. Student has only used 50% of their full Pell Grant eligibility. Student decides they want to attend summer to catch up on credits. Student would not be required to be halftime since they had not already received 100% of their yearly eligibility.
Federal Direct Student Loans:
Students must be enrolled at least halftime in required coursework to be eligible for Direct loans.
T在这里 are maximum yearly limits for Direct student loans. If you have borrowed Direct Loan funds during the Fall 2021 and/or Spring 2022 term(s), you may not have remaining Direct Loan eligibility for summer study. 访问我们的 网页 for current annual loan limits.
First-time Direct Loan borrowers must sign a Master Promissory Note (或然数) 和 完整的 Entrance Loan Counseling.
Federal Direct 家长 PLUS Loan:
Students enrolled halftime are eligible for Federal Direct 家长 PLUS Loans. 家长 borrower(s) must 应用 for a Direct PLUS Loan 和 sign a Master Promissory Note (或然数).
Private Student Loan:
Students are not required to be halftime to be eligible for some private student loans. Students must 完整的 a loan application with the lender of your choice. Please click 在这里 more information.
Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements
In order to receive federal aid* students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements. Check your SAP status after each graded term on Student Self Service. Students who are not meeting SAP after spring 2022 are ineligible for summer federal financial aid.
Required Coursework
As you schedule your summer classes, keep in mind that your enrollment status, in part, determines your federal aid eligibility. Your enrollment status for federal aid eligibility is determined by how many eligible Title IV credits you are completing. Classes that you enroll in that are not required for your program will not be eligible for federal aid.
*Federal aid includes the PELL, SEOG, Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans, Direct 家长 PLUS Loans, and Federal Work Study.
